La Marsa

The seaside suburb Tunisians call home.
La Marsa is less a destination than a way of life. On summer evenings families walk the corniche, ice creams in hand, while the cafés fill with conversation that stretches well past midnight. It has long been where Tunis comes to breathe.
At its centre, Café Saf Saf sits beside an old well that once drew water by camel power. Around it, a new generation of restaurants and boutiques has made La Marsa one of the most rewarding places in the country to eat well.
