An old port at the northern edge of Africa.

Bizerte's old port is one of the most photogenic corners of the country: pastel houses, fishing boats and the walls of the kasbah reflected in still water. The city sits on a canal linking the Lake of Bizerte to the Mediterranean, and has always lived from the sea.

Nearby, Cap Angela is often cited as the northernmost point of the African continent. Along the coast, quiet beaches and rocky coves make Bizerte an easy and underrated escape from Tunis.

Highlights

  • The old port and kasbah

  • Cap Angela
